The Friday Five

Happy Friday! I’m a little bit late on posting today because I truthfully forgot that that’s what today was. Nonetheless, here is my little list of five things. Enjoy!

One | Shortly before Christmas, I started reading Outlander. I’ve been meaning to read it for ages, and I’m slowly working my way through the 750+ page novel. So far, I’m really enjoying it – it’s slow at times, and tremendously compelling at others. After I finish the first book, I may just start the second…

Two | Today I ordered myself a tartan blanket scarf. Katie recommended it to her readers – It’s a dupe for the $40+ Zara version.  I’ve had my eye on a number of dupes for a while, but at less than $10.00 I, this is the best deal I’ve found.  Had to have it.  And free shipping? “Add to cart.”

Three | These Vegetarian Southwest Eggrolls were one of my contributions to Christmas Dinner at Mom’s, and I’m contemplating making them again. Maybe next time I can add in mushrooms or something? They are absolutely delish.

Four | I’ve been dreaming of reorganizing my kitchen lately. I need to find more effective storage for my spices and pantry items. I’m thinking that a tiered cabinet organizer and a few lazy susans would make a world of difference. I’m also thinking about changing where dishes and such are located.

Five | This week, I also started helping my friend Beth plan her son’s first birthday party. He’ll turn one at the end of May, but she thinks the next few months are going to fly by, especially given that he’s walking now. The theme? Monkeys! Here is just one of the ideas I like:

  1. My kitchen is a hot mess that needs to be organized in the worst way. I love the idea of a tiered cabinet organizer! I love the blanket scarf, but I’ll probably wait to wear it once it isn’t quite as popular.
